St. Patricks Day

On St. Patrick's Day, we went to Jumping Jungle. A friend from my youth came to town, and we thought it would be fun to get together and catch up, and let our boys play.

Morgan didn't want to pause for a picture, so most of them, he is on the move.

g
Since it was St. Patrick's Day, everyone was wearing green. Most of the green shirts were even the same shade as Morgan's. So, I would be looking for him, catch sight of a green shirt zinging by, and would think I'd found him, but on closer inspection, would realize I was chasing a stranger.

We just happened to go on a day when they were trying to raise money for a charity, so there were characters and balloons and door prize drawings, etc.
The closer it got to lunch time, the more rambunctious the kids got. Soon it was apparent that it was time to go.
But first, we had to have a heartbreaking episode of an escaping balloon. Luckily there was an extra.

We had fun, and it was good to see Katie.

Cool girl

Morgan put these sunglasses on Lydia the other day, so I had to get pictures.

She didn't love them.

Morgan took some pictures too. I think Lydie's expression here is so cute, if not a little out of focus.

First Solids

Lydia reached six months old in record time, (figure that one out) and so it was time to introduce rice cereal.
I got Lydia all situated in the highchair with a bib, and got the mixture of breast milk and rice cereal all ready, secured a camera-woman, and we were ready to go!
Lydie was so ready for food. It's like she knew exactly what was coming. I got the spoon filled, she got all wiggly with excitement. Her eyes were trained on the spoon, and her mouth opened immediately. Spoon entered mouth, and she chewed. Yes, chewed. She was so cute to watch the whole time. I couldn't get her the next bite fast enough. She giggled for most of it; sometimes the giggles were mixed with complaints, like, hurry up Mommy, I'm so excited for my next bite.
This first picture is of her half whine, have laugh, face.

So happy to feed herself.

.Then Morgan turned photographer while we cleaned up.

Since then, we have tried rice cereal with just water, with watered down apple juice, some green beans, carrots, and squash. She's not as big a fan of the cereal when it's not momma's milk. She literally gagged on the green beans, gobbled down the carrots, and tolerated the squash.
Did I mention she has two teeth?

Sippy cup

I was reading somewhere that 6 months is a good age to start the sippy cup. It surprised me; I figured it would be around a year old. Since Lydia has chronically refused the bottle, I thought we'd give it a try.
I put some watered down apple juice in it, and let her have it. She mostly used it as a chew toy, but she occasionally accidentally got some juice out, which seemed to be a real surprise to her.
She still has some learning to do with it.

Check out the eczema on her poor head. I can't get it under control.

Jumparoo

When Morgan was eight months old we took a trip to the Oregon coast with the Nelsons. We stayed in a rented seaside home, and in it was a jumparoo. We set it up for Morgan and he LOVED it.

So when I was at Other Mother's the other day, I had to buy the one they had for Lydia. It was only $12.99 and I had more than that in store credit. And guess what? She LOVES it too.

Pretty pretty princess

Remember the little photo shoot I did with Lydia in the tutu? Well, it was time for another. She is wearing the exact same outfit, (except for the bow/flower in her headband). Fits her better this time.
My dad was also taking pictures of her, but he's a much better photographer, and has a high quality camera, so I look forward to seeing the pictures he took. But for now, enjoy the cuteness of my princess Lydie from the pictures I took with my average camera and with my below average photography skill.

Too bad this one is so blurry. She was moving though, falling, actually.
