Mother's Day

Let me tell you about my Mother's Day.
First of all, Morgan keeps careful tabs on holidays and events. Each time a holiday arrives, he asks which one is next, and then what? Then what? After that? He asks until we come full circle. On Easter he asked about all the upcoming holidays until we got back to Easter.
So he knew Mother's Day was coming.
My little four-year-old boy is astoundingly thoughtful. I've heard him approach my mom and have whispered conversations about surprising mommy on Mother's Day. Coincidentally my birthday is in another week or so. Morgan has also whispered to Grandma about that.
Anyway, on Saturday when I got up, Morgan had been up with grandma for awhile all ready. They were both acting mighty guilty. Morgan told me I couldn't go into grandma's bathroom. He also was so excited for the next morning.
Sunday morning came, and with it, precious gifts. My mom kindly got a couple mugs for my kids to paint, then helped them do it. (Which explained the blue paint in Lydia's fingernails.) Actually, Morgan painted his all by himself, and did an awesome job.
I heart snapdragon Mom.

He told me that the flower was a snapdragon, with one eye, one nose, and a mouth.
At church they gave all the ladies some flowers. Guess what I got? Yellow snapdragons.

I also got a card. You know the cards that you open and music plays? Do you also know about the cards that you can record your voice on, so when they open, that plays? This was a mixture of both. Morgan got to sing along with "You Make Me Want to Shout." I laughed so hard I cried. I love it! Check it out.

It was a great Mother's Day. Thanks Mom, for helping my children make it special for me!

Of a writing, singing, rhyming little boy

Video time! Now, I know it's long, but I tried really hard to cut footage to get it even this short. He's just to cute and smart to cut!



By the way, the Easter bit, he says that the Easter Bunny is going to leave him Sally. The blue porche from Cars. He's quite sure of this fact, and I have no idea where he got the idea. But the thing is, we have been planning on getting him another Cars character. So he might just be right.

Morgan loved tracing his name. He's been asking to do it more this afternoon so I printed some letter sheets for him to trace and it makes him one happy boy.

On a different note, the sun is shining, the sky is blue, and it feels like Spring. Inside. I admit, I only opened the door to get the mail once today, and that is the extent of my visit to the outdoors. But it looks Springy. Also, it's laundry day. While my regular pairs of pants were being washed I had to find something else to wear. My selection was a pair of capri's. Then I had to put on a bright yellow shirt to go with it, and I have been feeling great all day! I even did extra good at my daily chores.

I think I'll paint my toenails....

Dolphins at SeaWorld

Here's just a little video of us feeding dolphins at SeaWorld last month. I've been meaning to get this up, now I finally did.

Now I know my ABC's

Morgan is a super smarty pants. The video will demonstrate it. It's kinda long, about five minutes, but I had to show him off.
He likes to sing the alphabet song, but for some reason only really learned the second half. When he sings alone he usually starts at Q and is perfect from there. But he needs help with the first half.
Morgan is not quite three yet. At this rate he'll be reading before he's four. :)

Day at the zoo

We went to the Hogle Zoo a week or two ago. Morgan enjoyed it more this year, I think. But he doesn't feel the need to sit and watch for any amount of time. He looks at the animal, then runs off to the next one. But we had fun.

I could almost be a male gorilla.

This lion drinking fountain is one of the things that I remember most about the zoo from when I was young, believe it or not. I don't know why it was so memorable.

Learning the difference between bactrian and dromedary camels. Those have the double humps, like a B, so they are bactrian.

Scary crocodile.

There were lots of baby animals, the giraffe being one of them.
The zoo has this huge elephant thing that randomly makes loud noises and sneezes and such. It is pretty loud and Morgan was wary of it, but brave enough to get his picture on it.

We also had to do the carousal.

The highlight of the trip to the zoo was probably the baby tigers. There were three of them and it was fun to watch them play. Here's a little clip Aaron got of the baby tiger playing with it's momma.

Good Bye, Summer

So, summer is pretty much gone. :( As a little adeiu, here is a summer video.

The Dugway swimming pool is right across the street from us. We took advantage of it a few times over the summer, and Morgan LOVED it. After a little getting used to it, he was fearless of the water. With a life jacket, that is. He did his own thing too, and would get frustrated if Aaron or I interfered. (Like, tried to play with him.)

Jason's Mission Call

When I was in Idaho for three weeks, fortune smiled upon me. The day before I headed home, my younger brothers' mission call came, and I was able to be there when he opened it.
He was in quite a hurry to open it.

He left work early and expected everyone else to drop everything right then, otherwise he wouldn't wait for them. Since hardly anyone was home, (we didn't expect Jason to be home from work yet) everyone rushed home. Dad had to come all the way from the far end of Boise. Most of us got there within 3 minutes of each other. Dad walked in the door, rushed to his video camera, and arrived in the living room just in time to turn it on, pretty much.

Stuttering and Spinning

The other day Morgan started stuttering his T's. But perhaps that's misleading. If the word ended in T he would stutter it. Foot-t-t-t. We thought it was funny and so got it on video. He also likes to spin in circles lately and his eyes are so funny to watch. He likes to see where he's been apparently.
Oh, and, lookit! In some of the video Aaron is in the background making dinner! Awww. It was a marvelous meal. He made Sesame chicken that tasted like something you would order at a Chinese restaurant, it was so good. And he made bacon fried rice. It was delicious.

And on my computer some of it is really dark, but that isn't a problem on the video camera. I hope it's just my computer screen and that it will be viewed as it should on yours. Enjoy.
