On Saturday we didn't want to be stuck at the very hot campsite all day, so after my parents and younger brothers, as well as Stephanie and her kids left for home the remaining us decided to drive to The City of Rocks, which wasn't far. Well, it wouldn't have been far if we had read the signs telling us the fast way to get there. But we did eventually make it there. I had gone there when I was probably 5 or 6 and had good memories of the place, but I didn't remember how large an area and pretty it was. I don't know if pretty is the word, it was just really cool.
Here is some of what we saw driving there.
We stopped at the rocks called Bread Loaves to climb and play. Morgan was off immediately.
Here are Emmy, Kaien, Chris, and Morgan.
Aaron up high.
Morgan is probably sitting down because 1. he fell (during the camping trip Morgan spent so much time on the ground due to falling down, I thought we would have to teach him to walk again! He kept falling!) or 2. He thought the sloped rock was a slide.
We're higher than we look. It was kind of scary getting Morgan up there. He just wanted to climb and wouldn't stop moving. He didn't understand that on little stumble would send him down to the ground. It was scary.
