Potty Potty Potty
I know I've done a couple potty posts lately, but I'm gonna do one again anyway. Morgan had another success last night. Yay! He's always eager to go potty when I bring it up, or he'll request it during diaper changes. But I've also been feeling like he's not ready yet, to be potty trained. He's not even two yet! They say you don't need to think about potty training seriously until they can pull up and down their pants without help. Morgan cannot. I also don't know if he recognizes it when he has to go to the bathroom. Our successes have been luck, I think.
However, he's eager and excited so I do want to take advantage of that. So, should I really make a big effort to potty train Morgan? Or should I continue doing as we are, letting him experience the potty chair when he thinks it will be fun? Pressure or no pressure?
It would be awesome to have him potty trained early, but I don't want to have a big, failed attempt that will scare him off of using the toilet in the future. Also, it just seems like diapers are much more convenient in many ways. :) What do you think?

go to the library and get the book "potty training in a day" They have a plan in there to try for one day and if it doesn't work, stop and watch for more signs of readiness before trying it again. Lexie was three when she figured it out, Maddie was 20 months and never had an accident. Just depends on the kid!
I used that book mentioned above on Aaron at 30 months. SHAZAM!! done Same age for Chanel--2 weeks. Same age for Arielle---sigh
Definitely read the book. It gives 3 readiness signs. But what your're doing now is great by letting him lead the way with his enthusiasm.
I have also used that book. It worked for me. Rylee only took 1/2 of a day to get it and really didn't have accidents after that. I think she was around 2.
You're doing great..and I agree, diapers are A LOT easier in some ways. I hate the, "Mommy, I need to go potty!" when driving down the road or in a store that doesn't have public bathrooms.
I beat my head against the wall for all 5 kids! They had their own timing, and it didn't fit with mine. I gave up. They all trained around 3 and practically trained themselves overnight - no accidents. I think it's genetic! We have the three year old potty training gene. We also have the "no binky" gene - not one of them would take a binky EVER! Just remember, somewhere in Morgan's genetic makeup, is the 3 year old potty training gene!
